40 Jahre Wogeno Bern
The non-profit cooperative Wogeno Bern aims to remove housing from speculation and provide residents with secure and self-managed living space.
To mark its 40th anniversary, Bonsma & Reist designed a folded newspaper-format brochure composed of three parts:
“Wogeno in Focus” tells the story of the cooperative. “Wogeno in Images” presents eight personal portraits of current and former residents and members. “Wogeno Speaks” features interviews in which the portrayed individuals share insights into their everyday lives and reflect on their experiences with Wogeno Bern.
Each section is printed on a separate type of paper and features its own distinct layout. By nesting the printed sheets together, a dramaturgically varied juxtaposition of narratives, facts, and portraits emerges. The portraits were taken by photographer Beat Schweizer, while the interviews were conducted and compiled by Monika Bachmann.
The result is a publication that showcases a diverse and vibrant housing cooperative. It is produced with high-quality standards while maintaining a grounded and approachable character in its materials and design. By bringing the content together in this form, Wogeno Bern is offered not only a successful retrospective but also an appealing brochure for potential new members.
